The SCEA Baronne Guichard manages three beautiful estates located at the right bank : Château Vray Croix de Gay at Pomerol, Château Le Prieuré, Grand Cru Classé at Saint-Emilion and Château Siaurac, the most important property from Lalande-de-Pomerol. This group is owned by the proprietors of First Growth Château Latour.
Plaisir de Siaurac is made from the young vines of Château Siaurac, the largest property in Lalande de Pomerol.
The 68 hectares of vines are cultivated in sustainable viticulture on 40 distinct plots of gravel, deep clay, sandy clay and are grown according to individual needs, bringing great balance, charm and much generosity to the finished wine. The Château is certified since January 2009 and the family is oriented toward quality in order to produce wines with great expression and typicity.
75% Merlot – 20% Cabernet Franc – 4% Malbec
Very fruit forward and extremely expressive with medium body and plenty of ripe red fruits . . . cherries, plums and cassis. Modest amounts of spice and new oak lead to a long, ripe finish and mild tannins. Should continue to improve over the next five to ten years.
